Dolores Huerta ♥️

Los Lobos were saddened to hear of the passing of our hermana Dolores Huerta, whose relentless spirit and passion will certainly live on. In 1962, Dolores stood at the forefront of a historic movement that would change the course of American history. It was through her tireless efforts that the United Farm Workers was formed to bring justice and dignity to those who toiled in the fields to put food on America’s tables. Her work has resonated for decades and will continue to inspire fighters for social justice and equality for generations to come.

As for Los Lobos, she was our dear amiga Dolores. We would often see her at events, where she’d always take the time to greet us with a smile and an abrazo. Whenever we played Bakersfield, California, where she lived, you could be sure that she’d be there smiling and dancing. After the show, she’d stay up late sharing a slice of pizza backstage, just like one of us, because that’s exactly who she was. She was one of us and all of us.

Querida Dolores, rest in peace, love and power. Si se puede! – lp
